| Name: | Lu Meng (呂蒙) |
|---|
RP journal for Lu Meng in Camp Fuck You Die.
Lu Meng, styled Ziming, was a teenager when he snuck into the army of the young, charismatic warlord Sun Ce's army. His mother was furious at him, but Lu Meng responded by telling his mother that only through a military career could he bring prosperity to his family. Lu Meng remained a mere unnoticed soldier in his brother-in-law Deng Dang's unit until one day, a fellow soldier insulted his family, at which point Lu Meng slew the man. Fearful for his life, Lu Meng fled to an old family friend's home, but then decided to turn himself in to Sun Ce. Sun Ce was impressed by Lu Meng's fidelity and loyalty to his family, however, and so instead of executing him, Sun Ce promoted Lu Meng to be his bodyguard, and eventually found himself with the rank of Major.
Sun Ce was assassinated by rebels, however, and his younger brother, Sun Quan, was thrust into the role of warlord. Lu Meng aided his new lord by earning top merits in the fight against the murderer of Sun Quan's and Sun Ce's father, Huang Zu. Despite the loss of veteran officer Ling Cao, Sun Quan's forces were successful. In a surprise twist, the man who slew Ling Cao, Gan Ning, defected to Sun Quan's forces, much to the chagrin of Ling Cao's now orphaned son, Ling Tong. Lu Meng could foresee animosity between the two, and when the two prepared to kill each other at a banquet thrown in Gan Ning's honor, Lu Meng leapt between them and prevented any bloodshed.
Despite his skill, Lu Meng was content to be nothing more than a front-line general until at the request of his friend Lu Su and his lord Sun Quan, he lent himself to studying alongside his comrade, Jiang Qin. Lu Meng became, almost overnight, one of the most talented strategists in history, and when Lu Su passed away, Lu Meng was named as his successor.
Lu Meng's successful military career culminated in the capture and execution of the legendary Guan Yu. However, Lu Meng fell deathly ill and entrusted his protege, Lu Xun, to take his place. Some said that it was the spirit of Guan Yu that slew Lu Meng.
